Straight Shooters started in 2023, a couple years into my retirement after a 10+ year career in the NHL. During that time, I built a basement space to unwind and reset—playing pool, listening to records, and surrounding myself with pieces of the past, from old photos of artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Paul McCartney, Mac Miller, and Michael Jackson. It became a place where I felt creative and present, slowing things down before the end of the day.

Those nights started to shift how I looked at life. In a world full of constant information and distraction, I found myself thinking about how rare it’s become to just be in a moment without something pulling us away. It made me reflect on a time when people gathered more simply—drive-ins, pool halls, local sports events, and dive bars—places where presence wasn’t something you had to try to find, it just happened.

Straight Shooters is built from that idea. To be a Straight Shooter means to show up, be present, be honest, and live with intention. It’s about valuing the moments that make up a life—the ones that seem small in real time but end up meaning everything later. That same mindset carries into everything we create. From the quality of our materials, to the thought behind every design, to the craftsmanship in how each piece is made—nothing is rushed, and nothing is without purpose. We’re building clothing that reflects the same standard we try to live by: simple, honest, and made to last.
